Activating Your Licence

Reforge requires a licence to convert files. A free trial is available — no credit card required.

Requesting a trial licence

  1. Launch Reforge. The Licence Activation dialog appears automatically on first run.
  2. Click Request Trial and enter your email address.
  3. Enter the licence key from your email and click Activate Online.

Trial output includes a Reforge watermark. Upgrade to a paid licence to remove it.

Entering a paid licence key

  1. Open Help > Licence from the menu bar, or click the licence indicator in the status bar.
  2. Enter your licence key and click Activate Online.

Offline activation

For air-gapped or restricted-network environments:

  1. In the Licence Activation dialog, click Offline Activation.
  2. Note the Machine ID displayed.
  3. On a machine with internet access, visit reforgesoftware.com and generate an offline activation file using your licence key and Machine ID.
  4. Copy the activation file to the air-gapped machine and click Import Activation File.

Note

Offline licences are hardware-bound. To move the licence to a different machine, deactivate on the original machine first using reforge license deactivate.

Checking your licence status

The current licence status is visible in the bottom status bar. Click it to open the licence management panel showing your edition, renewal date, and activation count.

Deactivating a licence

To move your licence to a new machine:

  • GUI: Help > Licence > Deactivate
  • CLI: reforge license deactivate
