Using the App
The Reforge desktop application has five tabs, reachable from the left navigation or with ctrl+1 to ctrl+5.
| Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
| Convert | Drop files, pick a preset, and convert — single files, small sets, or large batches |
| Preview & Compare | Put a source CGM and its converted SVG side by side, and inspect hotspots and layers |
| Profiles | Browse the seven built-in output presets and configure per-job settings |
| Folder Watch | Watch conversion progress, inspect the JSONL log, and review completed jobs |
| Settings | Everything below — appearance, output options, performance, file handling, watching and fonts |
Some things are tasks rather than tabs. Validating files runs from the Convert tab, either on its own or as a gate in front of a conversion.
| Settings page | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Theme, UI scale, density |
| SVG Options | Hotspot encoding, text handling, raster encoding |
| Performance | Parallel workers, engine cache |
| File Handling | Auto-save, naming templates, recovery |
| Folder Watch | Continuous hot-folder monitoring |
| Fonts & OCR | Font substitution, OCR language |
